Control Readiness Progress Tracker: Visualize Control Readiness Progress To Prioritize Audit Preparation

Control readiness is no longer just a binary signal. With the new Control Readiness Progress Tracker, teams can now see a percentage-based view of each control’s progress toward readiness, making it easier to understand what is nearly complete, what still needs work, and where to focus next.

The new Progress column on the Controls table displays a visual bar and percentage for each control, rolling up evidence, monitoring, policies, and approvals into a single readiness signal. Teams can hover over the progress bar to see a breakdown of ready versus not-ready items, and the same indicator is also available on the control detail page for a consistent experience.

What's New

• Progress column on Controls table: View a new Progress column that displays a visual bar and percentage for each control, representing how much of the underlying readiness criteria is currently satisfied.

• Hover breakdown of readiness status: Hover over the Progress bar to see a tooltip that breaks down how many underlying items are ready versus not ready, so teams understand what drives the percentage without leaving the table.

• Consistent view on control detail page: Access the same visual progress indicator when you open a control detail page, keeping the readiness signal consistent whether you are scanning the table or diving into a specific control.

Q1: How is the Control Readiness Progress Bar calculated?

A: The progress bar shows the percentage of readiness items that are currently in a ready state. This includes evidence, monitoring, policies, and approvals. Items that are out of scope or not factored in are excluded, so the percentage reflects only the items that meaningfully affect readiness.

Q2: Where will I see the Control Readiness Progress Bar in Drata?

A: You will see it in the new Progress column on the Controls table, where it appears by default and can be sorted like other columns. You will also see the same indicator on the control detail page.

Q3: Does the Control Readiness Progress Bar change framework readiness calculations?

A: No. Framework readiness is still based on whether each mapped control is considered ready. The progress percentage helps teams understand how close a control is to readiness, but it does not currently change framework-level readiness calculations.

Q4: How should teams use the Control Readiness Progress Bar to prioritize work?

A: Teams can use the progress bar to quickly identify controls that are close to ready and may only need a small amount of work to be completed. Sorting by progress helps surface those near-finish controls, while the hover breakdown helps show whether evidence, monitoring, policies, or approvals are the main blockers.
